October has flown by, soon it will be time for my favorite holiday, Halloween. And oh yes, I have been busy carving my pumpkin for that special night. You might check on my next blog for the details and photos!

I've been enjoying the Indian Summer with the extended growing period during this month and so have the Painted Lady butterflies that are on migration in my area. One sunny day I was able to get in real close with my Nikon 150mm macro lens while they were visiting the sunflowers.

The highlight of the month was a photo shoot to catch the colors at Six Mile Canyon, near Virginia City. The winding road takes one back to the early mining days of Nevada.

With the changing of the seasons, the sunrises have been great at Walker Lake and I can not resist going out for a photo. My biggest challenge is deciding on which one to add to my gallery. I'm seriously considering the following one.
